New Years Eve Ceremony and Sound Bath

Presented by Soulstice Life at Northern Arizona Yoga Center

Ceremony is often the forgotten path to self-care, it also carries importance in our community, as our own individual wellbeing is intrinsically linked to the wellbeing of the community. A ceremony allows us to acknowledge a transition or a rite of passage – a new beginning or a conclusion to an event in our lives. Ceremonies can stimulate our emotions and prompt memories, as well as motivate us. The positive effects of ceremony are universal across civilisations and are not specific, to gender or age.

Our bodies are made of 70% water and are ideal conductors for the gong's and crystal bowls vibrational energy. Now imagine the same rippling effect as soothing, meditative sound waves reverberate throughout your entire body. Quartz crystal singing bowls have no grain boundary, as in no other molecular structures interfere with their frequency enabling them to resonate strongly for their size. Quartz is the second most abundant mineral, has a high melting point, is not readily affected by moisture or by temperature changes and can generate an electric current. The vibrational overtones and harmonics formed in crystal bowls and gongs create supreme relaxation as brain waves are entrained to theta levels.
Research by oncologist Dr. Mitchell L. Gaynor MD, indicates that sound healing can lower blood pressure, reduce cardiac disease, improve immunity, significantly reduce cortisol and other stress hormones, stabilize your mood, give you better sleep, and counter chemotherapy effects. Gongs are wonderful for resolving emotional and physical dissonance. The magic happens when there is no separation between the gong, the player and the listener. The experience of playing and listening to gongs is about physical, spiritual, and emotional resolution – opening the doors to the Universe and moving around energies. The gong is an ideal tool for stress reduction, stimulation of the glandular system, and breaking up emotional blockages. When played, gongs stimulate and resonate all cells in the body simultaneously and recalibrate the parasympathetic nervous system (heavy arms and legs as well as a regulated heart rate during a gong meditation are a sign of the re-calibration).
