Sound of Flight - Recycled Art Workshop

Sound of Flight - Recycled Art Workshop

Presented by Friends of Flagstaff's Future at Heritage Square

Join Friends of Flagstaff's Future KARES (Kids Art Reading and Eating for Sustainability) Program and be part of an exciting recycled art workshop at Heritage Square, creating wind chimes from old bottle caps and other recycled materials and hundreds of origami birds from recycled paper and old magazines. During the workshop instructions and materials will be provided to make the origami birds and wind chimes.

This is a collaborative effort with the Mural Mice team (https://soundofflight.net/) as they start painting a birds and music mural on the Orpheum wall in downtown Flagstaff.

We will be using the mural's focus as inspiration for the art installation which will hopefully include hundreds of birds and wind chimes. All the individual birds will be assembled into a mobile and displayed at the mural site during September First Friday Artwalk.

FREE ALL ages event!
This and our other recycled art workshops are made possible thanks to support from the City of Flagstaff BBB funds, Flagstaff Arts Council and Heritage Square Trust
