Many dramas play out under the dark skies of a Flagstaff night. Foxes, skunks, raccoons, coyotes and a host of other animals wander our yards and streets. Often their behavior is directly influenced by the way we build our homes, landscape our yards and feed our pets. Learn about Flagstaff’s wild nightlife from NAU’s Tad Theimer in this fascinating lecture.
This event is part of the Flagstaff Festival of Science, and also part of the NightVisions V exhibition.
Coming to the Coconino Center for the Arts for the fifth time, NightVisions V celebrates the beauty of the night sky. Nearly two-thirds of Americans live where they can no longer see the Milky Way galaxy because of light pollution. NightVisions seeks to re-open our positive connections to the natural night and to bridge the divide separating artistic from scientific perception, promoting the idea that science and art are two intertwined aspects of human experience.
