Lecture - Community Builders: The Riordan Families of Flagstaff

Presented by Riordan Mansion State Historic Park at Riordan Mansion State Historic Park

As the largest employers in Flagstaff, Matt Riordan and his younger brothers, Tim and Mike, assumed leadership roles in the fledgling community. Together they guided their fellow citizens toward building institutions of learning and science, encouraging community investment in technology and infrastructure, and developing a diverse economy. They sought to create a viable community which would thrive into the future. Today the younger brothers' home remains as the physical evidence of their story. It is preserved as an historic house museum, Riordan Mansion State Historic Park, providing an opportunity for future generations to experience a small part of the Riordans' story. Presented by Kathy Farretta, M.A., Volunteer, Riordan Mansion State Park.
