Every First Friday throughout the summer, Heritage Square in historic downtown Flagstaff plays host to events for all ages! Downtown Friday Nights begins June 1 and will continue through October 5, 2018.

6-7 pm: Flagstaff Community Band

The Flagstaff Community Band is a 50 member concert band, performing marches and other patriotic selections, music from movies and musicals, as well as other pop music and traditional concert band selections. The band has been a part of our community for 26 years and can be seen and heard and a variety of events around town.

7-8 pm: Flagstaff School of Music

The school provides a weekly quality musical education program including private music lessons in guitar, drums, bass, piano, mandolin, violin, trombone, viola, ukulele, flute, cello, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, as well as vocal instruction. They provide the proper amount of theory, techniques, and ear training for students’ specific purposes, as well as many community events in which they put their mission to the test and become ‘performance ready‘ for those who want, and a purpose to the practice. The students at FSM vary in age from four years old to eighty-four, or more. Through focused music lessons, every student has the opportunity to be “performance ready” if they desire.
