Encaustic is a Greek word meaning "to heat or burn in"(enkaustikos) Heat is used throughout the process, from melting beeswax and varnish to fusing the layers of wax.
Encuastic consists of natural bees wax and
dammer resin(crystallized tree sap). In this class you will learn from veteran Encaustic Artist SHANNON HEFFERN, this ancient fun art and create your own "DREAM BOARD" Bring articles such as paper, metal, and items to incorporate into your wax creation! ALL OTHER MATERIALS PROVIDED. $45 per person.
