Hip Hop Awareness & Appreciation Week - Undergraduate Symposium

Students have the opportunity to present and share that which they learned over the semester and over the week. We will also plan ahead to film/video record students' presentations for future marketing, reflection and learning.

After HHAW, organizing students from both Hip Hop classes will be responsible for a public presentation that reflects upon, summarizes and analyzes their experience at the undergraduate Symposium. MEChA is bringing 50 6th grade students from Empower College Prep in Phoenix, AZ to attend and dialogue with NAU students about the depth and breadth of learning opportunities available to college students that have a supportive faculty and administration to encourage learning in different formats both within and outside of the classroom, with Hip Hop being merely one new pedagogical approach that they had not previously considered.
