History of foraging and growing culinary and medicinal plants in the Flagstaff area
The Flagstaff area flora has been a source of food and medicine for residents since prehistoric times. Settlers attempting to grow non-native plants found challenges here with our high elevation, short growing season, and limited water.
Join Pioneer Museum’s volunteer gardener Martha Murphy as she discusses the history of foraging and growing culinary and medicinal plants in northern Arizona. Martha will provide tips on growing and storing a variety of edibles.
BEER AND WINE will be available for purchase
