Matt Farris is a cutting edge country singer from Nashville. He was raised in Lake Havasu City, Arizona, where he has been entertaining everyone in his family since he could talk. Matt's Mother Sandra Schulzkump of Lake Havasu City sparked his love of music by singing country tunes to him as lullabies. At the age of 8 his parents bought him a guitar, which now hangs up at Matt's hometown country bar, The Flying X Saloon, and he immediately took a liking to country music. When Matt graduated high school he moved to Flagstaff AZ to attend NAU then moved to Phoenix AZ to continue his education. He became an Emergency Medical Technician then went on to attend The Glendale Community College Fire Academy and is a certified Fire Fighter. He continued his musical interests as well entering talent searches and singing for anyone that would stop and listen.

Matt’s music career was starting to take off and he played out with his Dad and Grandpa around Phoenix. Matt surprised his Dad and Grandpa by entering them all in the 2010 Colgate Country Showdown. After the 2010 Colgate Country Showdown Arizona State Finals, encouraged by his success Matt moved to Nashville to pursue his dreams of country music. When his Dad and Grandpa are not playing in the band you will see them singing backup vocals with Matt and his band KinFolk.

Matt strongly believes in giving back and he does so thru tirelessly performing for Make a Wish Foundation and the American Cancer Society and Breast Cancer Awareness. After losing a close friend to breast cancer Matt started an annual benefit in his hometown of Lake Havasu called Denise’s Day, now in its 4th year.
