Flagstaff City – Coconino County Public Library and Flagstaff Arts Council present award-winning Native American singer Radmilla Cody. Radmilla Cody is a Grammy Nominee, multiple Native American Music Awards winner, 46th Miss Navajo Nation, and an advocate against domestic abuse and violence. Cody is of the Tla’a'schi’i'(Red Bottom People) clan and is born for the Naahilii (African-Americans).
Her songs are a mix of traditional Navajo music and songs incorporating lyrics written by her uncle, Herman Cody. In 2002, she won the Native American Music Award for Best Female Artist for her album Seed of Life and in 2012 her album Shi Keyeh or Songs for the People was nominated for Best Regional Roots Album at the 2012 Grammy Awards.
