After much discourse, the brothers were reunited in 2012 and decided to take their collective songwriting efforts and pursue music, together. Fellow classically-trained instrumentalists and long time friends Joe Bitz (trumpet, mandolin, keyboard), and Jason Yee (drums) joined the collaboration that is now, The Senators.

With the ethos of true indie artists, The Senators released their completely self-recorded album Harsher than Whiskey/Sweeter than Wine in 2013, having laid down the foundations with songs penned in those preceding years. The debut album quickly grabbed the attention of indie hipsters and folk rockers at a pace awarding them #6 on Billboard Magazines Next Big Sound chart (Oct. 3rd, 2013).

The Senators employ a sophisticated song-craft that lends itself to a more melodic branch of indie rock paired with a deferential nod to the rock-and-roll forefathers of Sun Records.  In kind, the band roots themselves in the rich tradition of Appalachian bluegrass and Dust Bowl folk.
