NAU Wind Symphony Concert

NAU Wind Symphony Concert

Presented by Northern Arizona University, College of Arts and Letters at Ardrey Memorial Auditorium

This concert features School of Music faculty member Dr. Genevieve Clarkson performing the Rolf Wilhelm Concertino for Tuba and Wind Instruments. The composer intended the Concertino to be an easily comprehended, uncomplicated work of a pleasant nature that features the tuba—what he considered to be a fascinating instrument with an enormous range of more than four octaves.

Besides the Concertino, the concert features musical “stopovers” from Russian composer Dmitry Kabalevsky, Mexican composer Arturo Márquez, and contemporary Japanese composer Yasuhide Ito.

The Wind Symphony is the premier wind performing group at Northern Arizona University and includes the most outstanding woodwind, brass, and percussion students in the School of Music.
