LOCAL : COLOR is an art exhibition about connections. We invited six artists who live in Flagstaff to participate. In turn, those six artists each invite three more local artists, bringing forth a total of 24 artists. The exhibition will feature art work by those 24 artists. Each artist has a connection to every other artist, forming a network web of local talent, separated by only a few degrees.
The artists have been selected for LOCAL : COLOR. We will post the names of all 24 participating artists later this month. Below are the six participating artists that were invited by four jurors. Each of these six artists have invited three other artists.
Tom Alexander, photographer
Greg Mason, found object assemblage
Bahe Whitethorne, Jr., painter
Jen Holt, ceramic artist
Julie Williams, printmaker
Darcy Falk, fabric artist
Catbird Seat: Hues From the Flying Carpet, aerial photography by Greg Brown, will be exhibiting in the Jewel Gallery. Flagstaff photographer Greg Brown captures startling hues, patterns, textures, and visual anomalies from his perch in the Flying Carpet, a tiny personal aircraft. His fine art aerial photography has been exhibited at NAU, the Phoenix Art Museum, and Sharlot Hall Museum.
