CAL Film Series: 'An Unmarried Woman'

Presented by Northern Arizona University, College of Arts and Letters at Cline Library Assembly Hall

Oscar nominated director Paul Mazursky called his films serious comedies about American society, and he was at his best in this film about a Manhattan woman, suddenly divorced and wrestling with her sense of self.

The 2017 Fall College of Arts and Letters Film Series is seeing stars: The series’ theme —20th Century Fox: The Directors—There were five major film studios during Hollywood’s Golden Age, roughly the years from 1932-1947.  All five of those studios are still actively producing entertainment productions today. The CAL Film Series has featured two of those studios in the past: Columbia and Warner Brothers.  In the future, NAU plans to do series focus on MGM and Paramount.

Get to know about the movies and their famous directors at 7 p.m. Tuesday evenings in the Cline Library Assembly Hall. Win prizes as film experts share little-known tidbits about the films, actors and the social issues that impacted the stories and their telling.
