The talk by a leading force in biodiversity informatics and accompanying animated film, TreeTender, will examine the interconnectedness of all living things
Dr. Rob Guralnick is a leading force in biodiversity informatics, and will give the talk: Scaling up and reaching out: new modes to engage the public in natural history and biodiversity. Dr. Guralnick will discuss two projects, the first is a long-term citizen science projects called Notes from Nature, and the second is a novel approach to reach the general public about the importance of the Tree of Life. Dr. Guralnick will show TreeTender, an exquisite 15-minute animated film that examines the Tree of Life and how all living things are connected. The film premiered in November 2017 at the University of Florida.
