Lecture — Poetry and Poets in the White House: The Surprising Story of Literature and Power

Paul J. Ferlazzo, Ph.D., Dept. of English, Northern Arizona University, Professor Emeritus, will discuss the presidents’ poetic interests and the relationships between their lives and some of the poems. He suggests that an appreciation of poetry reveals details about the presidents which are often not publicly apparent, but can significantly shape their values and world views.
