Between 150,000 to 350,000 stray, feral and abandoned dogs (referred to as Rez Dogs) struggle to survive in the Four Corners Region of the United States. Some work for a living, some are pets and most desperately need to be rescued. Writer/photographer Steven Sable's documentary photography project generates awareness of the plight of the reservation dog. His stunning images take viewers on an incredible visual journey through the Colorado Plateau, introduces the dogs themselves and highlights life-saving rescue work done by great humans and nonprofit animal groups with huge hearts.
