Rovshan Mamedkuliev was born in Baku, Azerbaijan and started his studies in classical guitar at the age of eleven. He has won more than twenty prizes in International competitions, including Special prize for the best interpretation of the compositions of Tarrega at the International competition “Francisco Tarrega” in 2007, as well as the Guitar Foundation of America's International Concert Artist Competition in 2012. He visits Flagstaff as part of the GFA sponsored Winner’s Tour on Saturday, January 25, 2014.
