Horizon Concert Series: Heinavanker

Horizon Concert Series: Heinavanker

Presented by Northern Arizona University School of Music at Ashurst Hall

For six years, the NAU School of Music’s Horizons Concert Series has been providing global exploration and deeper musical experiences for the NAU and Flagstaff Community. The Global Artist-in-Residence program brings international musicians to the Northern Arizona University Campus twice a year for one-to-two-week residencies with activities across campus and the local community.

NAU School of Music Horizons Concert Series presents “Heinavanker: Estonian choir performs early music and Estonian folksong settings."

"Heinavanker (the Haywain) is a vocal ensemble the activity of which is inspired by older sacred music. The ensemble has got its name after the famous altarpiece of Hieronymos Bosch (1453-1516). This rare piece of art represents a huge waggonload of hay rolling through the world vexed by agony and greed towards destruction. However, atop the hayload there sounds beautiful music." http://www.heinavanker.ee/
