Seed to Table is an eight week series teaches about gardening, nutrition from garden produce, and food safety.
Join us every other Tuesday from 5-7 pm at the Bus Stop Garden for interactive learning opportunities focusing on vegetable preparation, food preservation, nutrition education, high elevation gardening, and other various garden tips. Family-friendly food demonstrations with FREE food are included at each workshop. This week’s workshop will focus on Leafy Greens. McKenzie Jones from the Flagstaff Office of Sustainability will be joining us for a composting demonstration. Did you know that growing leafy greens is an excellent choice for an area of your garden that doesn’t receive a lot of sun? This and other leafy green gardening tips will be provided. We will be demonstrating how to best store leafy greens to keep them fresh and at their most nutritious. Food demonstrations and recipes will include leafy greens in drinks, stir-frys, snacks, and even desserts – they aren’t just for salads!
