Riordan Days of Summer

Riordan Days of Summer

Presented by Riordan Mansion State Historic Park and Flagstaff Community Band at Riordan Mansion State Historic Park

The day’s festivities will include music by the Flagstaff Community Band (10 AM) and The Knockabouts (1, 2, and 3 PM) on the front patio of the Riordans’ beautiful home. As in past years, the parking lot will be filled with classic cars courtesy of the Route 66 Club. The logging horses that were so popular last year are returning, so bring your camera and have your photo taken with the gentle giants. They will be performing logging demonstrations at noon and 3:45 PM. Primo’s Deli will be providing food, so plan to have lunch and enjoy the beautiful late spring day under the trees. You’re sure to enjoy the deli’s exclusive “Hungry Irishman Corned Beef Sandwich”!

Local crafters and bakers will be donating items for sale to help support the Mansion. The bake sales at previous events have been very popular. Desi’s Cowboy Cookies always go fast, so find the bake sale table when you first arrive.

Riordan Days of Summer is a fun raiser for the whole family and a fundraiser with the sole intent of supporting the Riordan Mansion and keeping it open to the public. There will be games and face painting for the kids. A suggested donation of $5.00 per person is appreciated at the gate. As a special thanks to the community for the incredible support in keeping the park open, the west wing of the Riordan Mansion will be available for viewing at no additional charge throughout the event. There is a very special Riordan wedding display in the west wing that you don’t want to miss as well as a demonstration of an antique treadle sewing machine. As always, guided tours will be given on the hour for the usual charge with the first tour at 10 AM and the last tour at 4 PM. It will be a busy day, so be sure to make your tour reservation by calling the park at 928 – 779-4395. Please park off site and walk to the main gate entry. The parking garage next to the park will not be available, but you may park behind Cline Library and Ardrey Auditorium or on Riordan Ranch Road on the west side of the park. Handicapped-only parking is available at the Mansion.
