Northern Arizona University in partnership with La Posada, the Museum of Northern Arizona, and the Sedona International Film Festival are proud to present the 2013 NAU Summer Speaker Series.
Presenter: Mohamed M. Abdel Aziz Mohamed, Assistant Professor of Comparative Study of Religion, at the Comparative Cultural Studies Department
Topic: In this lecture, I will ground the 2011 Egyptian Revolution, not in liberal mobilization, but in a long history of state internal conflicts and the eruption of the Revolution as a result of an ultimate confrontation between two poles of power within the state. Explaining the current chaotic situation, I will draw scenarios of future change in state structures, the political sphere, the market and the Muslim Brotherhood Group.
