Short Form Improv Workshop

Short Form Improv Workshop

at Coconino Center for the Arts

Students will engage  in the fundamentals of improv during this seven-week workshop series. The way to build the highest tower is with a strong base.  The workshop is designed for a wide range of experience and comfort levels, from beginners with no practical theater experience to advanced thespians seeking a challenge.  Participants can also expect to cover the basics of listening, agreement and teamwork.   After learning fundamentals students will participate in short form games and activities that we’ll create a strong background for an improviser whether in this career or any other.

The final session of the series will include a performance open to the public.

Dennis Verrett is an improv veteran living in Flagstaff. Ever since he was small he has wanted to be one of the big names on “Whose Line is it Anyway?” Dennis began his practice  in high school and has since joined NAU’s improv team NAUghty Bits, as well as started a flagstaff based improv school called Tiny Punches. Dennis holds a degree in Education. Dennis plans to start an improv movement within Flagstaff to rival other metropolitan cities.
