Grand Canyon Celtic Arts Academy is entering its 9th year! We are very excited to have The Recollective as our instructors! The Recollective is comprised of Karen Hickey (Irish Fiddle), Calum Morrison (Traditional Accompaniment, Traditional Scottish Singing, Tenor Banjo/Mandolin), Michael Coult (Irish Flute and Tin Whistle), and Kieran Leonard (Bodhrán and World Percussion). We offer youth classes for ages 8 + and teen/adult classes. There are classes for all ability levels.  Youth classes are taking place July 10-14 and adult classes are July 11-13 at Flagstaff Arts and Leadership Academy.

Youth who register will attend 5 classes Monday-Friday between 10am and 4pm. No experience is necessary and all instruments are provided. Children will learn Irish Fiddle, Tin Whistle, Irish Dancing, Traditional Scottish Singing and Bodhrán/World Percussion.

For teens/adults, we offer classes Tuesday-Thursday in Irish Fiddle (beginning and intermediate), Irish Flute/Whistle, Beginning Tin Whistle, Traditional Accompaniment (DADGAD Guitar, bouzouki, cittern, etc.), Tenor Banjo/Mandolin, and Traditional Scottish Singing (all levels), and Bodhrán/World Percussion (beginning and intermediate levels. For those that would like to try out a class, but can’t make it during the day, we offer 2 hour workshops on Monday evening (July 10) in Irish Fiddle, Traditional Accompaniment, Intro to Bodhrán/World Percussion, and Intro to Irish Whistle.
