Factulty Artist Series: Ricardo Pereira (tenor) and Rita Borden (piano)

NAU School of Music Faculty Artist Series presents Ricardo Pereira, tenor and Rita Borden, piano. 

 

Ricardo Pereira:
A Brazilian singer with a flexible lyric tenor voice, Dr. Pereira made his professional operatic debut in 1992 in the world premiere of Ronaldo Miranda’s opera Don Casmurro at the Teatro Municipal de São Paulo and has appeared in numerous musical productions.
His performance repertoire includes chamber music, art song, opera, and oratorio and world premieres of works by contemporary composers. Dr. Pereira has been teaching private voice for almost twenty years. His students have achieved significant success both as teachers and performers.
 

Rita Borden:
Ms. Borden has distinguished herself as a versatile collaborative pianist performing orchestral, vocal, solo and chamber music concerts throughout the country. She has performed numerous chamber music and solo concerts for Chamber Music Sedona including performances with Colorado and Pacifica String Quartets. Ms. Borden has performed with the San Diego Symphony, Pacific Symphony and the Flagstaff Festival of the Arts Orchestras and is principal keyboardist with Flagstaff Symphony Orchestra, a position she has held since 1995.

Ms. Borden has over thirty years of experience in all areas of the accompanying field including a ten year post as staff accompanist at California State University-Fullerton and as accompanist for San Diego Master Chorale and many seminars and auditions including the Piatigorsky Cello Seminar, National Cello Institute, Metropolitan Opera Auditions, and Richard Miller Voice Seminar. She has served on the faculty of the University of Southern California-Idyllwild School of Music and the Arts, California State University-Summer Arts Festival and the NAU Curry Summer Music Camp.
