Janeen Trevillyan, Director of the Sedona Heritage Museum will present “History of Sedona — 0 to 20,000 in 135 years”, brief history of the greater Sedona area from the day Jim Thompson dropped over the side of the Mogollon Rim and found an abandoned Apache garden in Oak Creek Canyon. Illustrated with historic photos, this presentation tells the Oak Creek Canyon — Sedona story through major historic themes: homesteaders, cowboys, movie-making, government, and art, among others.
Janeen is the Historian for the Sedona Historical Society. She has been volunteering for the Sedona Heritage Museum for the past 13 years. She has been selected as an Arizona Culturekeeper and honored for her volunteer work in preservation of history by the Museum Association of Arizona, Arizona Main Street program, Keep Sedona Beautiful, among others. She is the co-author of “Images of Sedona”, a historic photo book of Oak Creek Canyon and Sedona.
