Night Landscape Photography

Presented by Artists' Coalition of Flagstaff at ACF Arts Connection Gallery

Have you ever sat out on an evening night, enjoying the beauty of the night, and wished you could save the moment forever? This class is an introduction to astro-landscape photography. The class will cover how to focus, and properly expose images in the field. Included will be to capture stars and the Milky Way as points of lights, and startrails that invoke the sense of the passage of time. Included will be an introduction of what to do with your images in Lightroom or Photoshop when you get home, to maximize the potential of your images. The class assumes a basic understanding of your DSLR or CSC (mirrorless) camera, but the class will show you techniques to maximize its potential to capture images of the night sky.
The instructor, CHARLES CLAUDE, has been imaging the landscape since climbing Mt Rainier in Washington State at the age of 15, almost 36 years ago. He started imaging the night sky after a spinal injury, and one of his first images of the Milky Way (over Monument Valley) was published by the Los Angeles Times,  Travel section. Recently he was an invited judge for an international photo contest on “Places Abandoned by Man”.
