Michael Hernandez, member of the critically acclaimed chamber ensemble, Mana Quartet, will present a Music Business and Entrepreneurship seminar where the following topics will be addressed:

1. Living as a free-lance artist; paying the rent with your art
2. Starting a private studio
3. Landing a University job
4. Booking concerts like a pro
5. How to manage your own performance career
6. Thinking out of the box; other forms of currency
7. The importance of collaborating with other artists and forming an artistic
community in your area
8. In depth look at the life of free-lance conductors, string players, actors, pianists, jazz musicians, orchestral musicians, arts administrators and
painters based on Hernandez’s own field research
