Neighbor Appreciation Day at Meteor Crater

Presented by Meteor Crater at Meteor Crater

If you have yet to experience Meteor Crater, then Neighbor Appreciation Day on Oct. 22 is the perfect time to do so as admission to the Crater is complimentary to all Flagstaff and Northern Arizona residents!

Brad Andes, President of Meteor Crater said, “To show our appreciation to all of our neighbors in Northern Arizona for their continuous support, we wanted to offer a day of free admission. That way, people who have yet to experience the Crater, or people who just want to see it again will have the opportunity to do so free of charge. It’s our way of saying thank you.”

To get in, all you should do is provide Northern Arizona proof of residency or a Northern Arizona local Student I.D card showing you live in Northern Arizona to the Visitor’s Center at Meteor Crater on Saturday, October 22, 2016 and experience the impact for free! All families with children are welcome with parent’s proof of Northern Arizona residency.

In addition to viewing the BEST preserved meteorite impact site on Earth, you’ll have the opportunity to watch a short 10-minute movie on the history of the Crater in the wide screen movie theater; spend time in the world-renowned Interactive Discovery Center with over 25 fascinating exhibits and take a guided rim tour of the Crater with one of the friendly, knowledgeable Rim Tour Guides, weather permitting.

Meteor Crater is located at I-40, Exit 233, 35 miles east of Flagstaff and a 20 minute drive from Winslow. Admission will be free to Northern Arizona residents from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
