A self taught Flagstaff painter, Rebekah Nordstrom created the paintings that make up the exhibition as part of a New Years resolution in January, 2019.  The series of 25 boldly colored and stylized still life paintings are studies in shape and color.  An étude is a composition built on technical motive, but created for artistic value. Though the word is usually used to describe a musical composition, Rebekah believes that it is an apt application for her exhibition.
