Poetry & Hope with Austin Davis

The Flagstaff Public Library is proud to host Austin Davis (ASU, Creative Writing)  in an event to benefit Sunshine Rescue Mission and Hope Cottage in Flagstaff, as well as Davis’s Phoenix-based organization, AZ Hugs for the Houseless. Davis will be reading from all three of his collected works of poetry, with special attention to the latest, Street Sorrows, inspired by his work with those experiencing homelessness in Phoenix. His book will be for sale with all proceeds going to AZ Hugs.  After the reading, Davis will open up the mic to other poets and wordsmiths who want to share their thoughts and words.

In conjunction with this event, the Library will be collecting donations for Sunshine Rescue Mission and Hope Cottage here in Flagstaff. Items specifically requested are clean and gently-used coats, new socks, bar soap, and disposable razors. Items may be brought to the event or dropped in the collection bin in the downtown public library starting Tuesday, September 7 through Friday, the 10th.

This event will be held outside on the library lawn, Sitgreaves side. Bring a chair or blanket and dress like it’s September in Flagstaff.
