Indigenous Peoples’ Day at Coconino Community College - Online Via Zoom

CCC Student Affairs is hosting Indigenous Peoples’ Day at Coconino Community College.

This annual event honors Indigenous peoples and recognizes their cultures and histories.
During this year’s observance, CCC’s Land Acknowledgement Statement will be the focus.

Free and open to the public – everyone is invited and welcome to attend online.

7 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Monday, October 11, 2021
The event is virtual via Zoom starting at 9 a.m.

9 a.m. – Welcome Address
Welcome – Dr. Colleen Smith, CCC President – CCC Land Acknowledgement, Native American-serving Nontribal Institutions grant.
Keynote Speaker – Arizona Sen. Jamescita Peshlakai, D-Cameron

11 a.m. – Sacred Apache Land Presentation
Don Decker, Apache

1 – 3 p.m. – Discussion: Beyond the Land Acknowledgement
