Enduring America: Selections from the Collection of Art and Peggy Hittner

The NAU Art Museum will present an exciting, historically important exhibition of American painting and sculpture from the 1930s and 1940s.

Enduring America: Selections from the Collection of Art and Peggy Hittner reflects the impulse among American artists to capture the strengths and values that shaped our richly varied regional cultures. In a period of climatic and economic disasters, these works of art — comforting evocations of family, community, shared labor and shared prosperity — provided a spiritual and psychological map through which we might find our way out of our nation's difficulties.
