Art in Action: Locked Up: Pain and Resilience

Locked Up: Pain and Resilience. Art by incarcerated people plus displays from the CC Jail. Enjoy music by Brad and Deb; Learn about “The Impact of Incarceration,” stories by exoneree Khalil Rushdan and formerly incarcerated people. Buffet served.

Khalil Rushdan will be the featured speaker at Open Doors: Art in Action’s First Friday event, November 1, as part of the current exhibit: Locked-Up: Pain and Resilience. Khalil spent 15 years in prison on a wrongful conviction which was overturned on evidence of vindictive prosecution. He is an on the ground mentor and resource for both Arizona Justice Project clients and hundreds of formerly incarcerated individuals through the SAGE Counseling program and advocates for reform in ... view more »
