An Evening with Amy Goodman

 The Northern Arizona University Department of Politics & International Affairs is pleased to announce that renowned journalist and activist, Amy Goodman, will be speaking at NAU’s Cline Library on March 13, 2014 at 7 p.m. Her talk is entitled, “The Silenced Majority.”

Goodman is the host and executive producer of Democracy Now, a national, daily, independent, award-winning news program airing on over 1,100 public television and radio stations worldwide. She has written five books and is the recipient of numerous awards for both independent journalism and her tireless advocacy for social justice. In 2008, Goodman was the first journalist to receive the Right Livelihood Award, widely known as the 'Alternative Nobel Prize' for “developing an innovative model of truly independent grassroots political journalism that brings to millions of people the alternative voices that are often excluded by the mainstream media.”

The presentation is free to students and the public. Tickets are available at the NAU Central Ticket Office (www.nau.edu/cto) beginning on February 28th.
