Bump in the Moonlight

“Bump in the Moonlight” Family Science Nights at Walnut Canyon
This summer, from May through July, the Flagstaff Area National Monuments and Lowell Observatory will be offering a variety of programs and activities designed to introduce families to the science and wonder of the night sky.
Learn about the moon and everything that goes “bump” in the moonlight at Walnut Canyon. Lowell Observatory educators and Park Rangers will offer hands-on activities designed to introduce families to night time ecosystems – from the craters of the moon to the sound of bats whooshing by.

Humphreys Music Festival: "Community United"

The Northern Arizona Pride Association and its Sponsors invite you and your family to attend the First Annual Humphreys Music Festival - "Community United" at Wheeler Park, Sunday, June 16th, 2013. Headlining will be Three Time Grammy Winner Keb' Mo'. Also performing will be singer/songwriters Catie Curtis and Tyrone Wells.

Zuni Festival of Arts and Culture

On Saturday, May 25 and Sunday, May 26, the Museum of Northern Arizona in Flagstaff will present its 23rd Annual Zuni Festival of Arts and Culture. This year’s festival showcases four cultural interpreters who will share how they perpetuate traditional Zuni identity. They will talk on the Zuni history of emergence and migration, reclaiming Zuni farming knowledge, bringing balance to the land in this time of climate change, and the complex history of Zuni art.
Artists, performers, and educators travel from Zuni, New Mexico to share their arts, talents, and culture at this event. Visitors will enjoy traditional Zuni dances, music from the Zuni Pueblo Band, and meeting and buying directly from Zuni artists. This event is created in partnership with the A:shiwi A:wan Museum and Heritage Center, which will bring historic archival films of Zuni life for visitors and Zuni people, alike, to view.

Flagstaff Kennel Club 20th Dog Shows

Come watch your favorite breed of dog as they compete for Best in Show at the annual Flagstaff Kennel Club dog shows at the Fort. Tuthill Fairgrounds. Adjacent to the big tent you will find Obedience and Rally Obedience competitions where dogs are tested to earn their AKC performance titles. All events begin at 8:00 a.m. both days. Check in at the Flagstaff Kennel Club table in the main building for a guided tour by a knowledgeable dog person or wander the grounds yourself. Pick up a Judges Program at the Superintendents table in the main building or purchase a catalog to find the specific time for your favorite breed or class. That information will also be listed at www.onofrio.com under the Flagstaff Kennel Club show listing. Look for the "Judges Program" on Onofrio website. Please leave your pet home for this one and just come enjoy the show. Hope to see you there!

Pride in the Pines is a dog friendly event!
This year's headliner is American Idol Kimberly Caldwell with guests AOL Featured Artist, Adam Tyler and Rupal Dragrace Allstar, Pandora's Boxx.

This summer, come on down and meet in Wheeler Park for a festival that highlights everything that is wonderful about Flagstaff.
Food provided by some of Flagstaff's best local restaurants and vendors.
There will be a wide array of micro-brews and other delicious non-alcoholic beverages for all.
In an effort to showcase our town's non-profits and all of their wonderful volunteers, the festival is donating booth spaces at reduced rates for local organizations.

Summer Scenic Lift Rides

Ride to the top of Arizona on Snowbowl's Scenic Skyride. The lift whisks you up to 11,500 feet in 25 minutes for spectacular panoramic views of northern Arizona, including the Grand Canyon. Flagstaff Friends of Traditional Music (FFOTM) is proud to present the 12th annual two-day Flagstaff Folk Festival on Saturday and Sunday June 29 and 30, 2013 from 10:00am to 6:00pm on the grounds of the Coconino Center for the Arts and the Pioneer Museum, located at 2300 N. Fort Valley Road in Flagstaff, Arizona.
This exciting event, featuring folk and acoustic music has become one of Northern Arizona’s most-loved festivals by attendees and musicians alike. This event is presented through a partnership of three local organizations: Flagstaff Friends of Traditional Music, Flagstaff Cultural Partners and the Arizona Historical Society Pioneer Museum.
The Flagstaff Folk Festival has become a very popular Flagstaff institution, which draws musicians and attendees from throughout Arizona and surrounding states. Under the pines in a serene and cool setting, the Festival stretches across the grounds of the Coconino Center for the Arts and the Pioneer Museum. Over 150 musicians perform on four different stages.
Live music abounds from individual and group acts, including fiddlers, folk singers, string bands, jam sessions, a band scramble, and more. Attendees will be impressed by the sheer volume of talent and amazed by hearing marvelous seasoned performers and impressive new groups and singer-songwriters.
There will be workshops, open to all festival attendees, covering various instruments (past workshops have covered everything from ukulele to autoharp to lead guitar playing) and such topics as songwriting and instrument care.
Admission to the Festival is $3/person or $9/family. Food vendors will have cold beverages, snacks, and meals for sale. Stages are both inside and outside, covered, and seating is provided.
