Realta

Realta

Presented by Flagstaff Arts Council at Coconino Center for the Arts

Realta has been described as a “full bodied pipe and whistle extravaganza” by Irish Music Magazine. This five piece band from Ireland brings together authentic Irish sounds featuring pipes, whistles, guitar, bass, Irish drum, and vocals. Realta presents a compelling take on traditional music with their full use of intricate melodies and driving rhythms that make celtic music so memorable.

Realta is composed of talented musicians that live and breathe Irish music. Conor Lamb has not stopped playing the uilleann pipes since he first heard them. He is a founding member of Realta. Aaron O’Hagan is a highly respected musician that specializes in the traditional wood flute. Deirdre Galway shines on the guitar and vocals and leads festival workshops. Dermot Mulholland adds his talents to Realta on banjo, bass, and bouzouki. Dermot Moynagh is one of the leading bodhran players of his generation.

This award winning, Belfast based band takes the listener on a journey of Irish tradition through music. Their music has taken them all across the world from Germany, Switzerland, Greece, and the United States and won prestigious awards such as the ‘Danny Kyle Award’ at the Celtic Connections Festival.
