Experience ULTRAVIOLET: Fabric Artworks by Darcy Falk intended to create conversation about women’s rights and health through historical and science-based perspectives.
Stitched into intricate fabric creations and viewed under ULTRAVIOLET lights, Darcy’s pieces reveal hidden messages. Ultraviolet light allows the viewer to see the unseen. Making artworks that only reveal their truest meaning when you look closely in the right light seems appropriate for telling women’s stories, explains Falk, since women’s concerns haven’t always been seen, heard, or taken seriously.
Darcy Falk has been creating artwork from textiles since the mid-1980s. She is also a writer, the creator of the Kevlar Kimono, and a resident of Flagstaff since 1986.
