A New Form of Beauty: Glen Canyon Beyond Climate Change

A New Form of Beauty: Glen Canyon Beyond Climate Change

Presented by Museum of Northern Arizona at Museum of Northern Arizona

A New Form of Beauty: Glen Canyon Beyond Climate Change is a lyrical exploration, in words and photographs, of Glen Canyon/Lake Powell as a quintessential landscape in the new era of climate change. Made with a large-format camera and complemented by advanced digital technologies, and reproduced originally as museum exhibition prints, the color photographs by Peter Goin present in lavish detail the ambiguities and incongruities that make up the lake and canyon landscape today. The text by Peter Friederici will examine, in three interconnected essays based on both personal experience and extensive reporting, why the uncertainties inherent in the future of the lake and canyon landscape herald an unpredictable new future for many places around the world. On View in our Lockett Gallery. Included in Museum admission. Always FREE for members.
