Join Latino Outdoors for an educational hike through Walnut Canyon!
Everyone (all ages, all cultures) is welcomed to this opportunity for learning and exploring! Discover Walnut Canyon with people who share similar interests. This educational hike will delve into the rich history, geology, ecology, and beautiful scenery of the canyon.
We will meet at the Safeway parking lot (on Cedar Ave, between Little Caesars and gas pumps) at 9:30am sharp, organize carpooling arrangements, and head to the canyon. (7.5 miles from Flagstaff.) Upon arrival, a ranger will give us a brief orientation, we’ll play a game about Leave No Trace, hike the Island Trail (1 mile loop), learn about public land conservation, and have snacks. However, please bring water and comfortable shoes. We plan to finish the hike by 12pm. We’ll have a quick debrief and then head back to the Safeway parking lot at 12:30pm. We hope to see you there!
FREE ADMISSION, but please RSVP to guarantee free entrance to the park. You can still show up without an RSVP, depending on how many people show up. Please contact me if you have any questions!
