Colton House Trio Residency Project Brings Songs of the River and More to Bluegrass and Acoustic Music Festival Pickin’ in the Pines 2017!
The Colton House Trio brings together three remarkable international talents: songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Chris Brashear, songwriter and National Flatpicking Guitar Champion Peter McLaughlin, and Grammy-award winning bassist and producer Todd Phillips. Together, with project liaison Julie Sullivan, this dynamic trio formed to participate in an inaugural Music Residency program conceived of and produced at the Museum of Northern Arizona’s historic Colton House.
The project resulted in The Colton House Sessions, 12 original songs finely crafted for and about the Southwest which will be premiered in a CD Release concert at Pickin’ in the Pines. This project was generously funded by Flagstaff Friends of Traditional Music, in partnership with the Museum of Northern Arizona who provided the historic quarters of the Colton House for the residency.
Additionally, 2 finely crafted dories built by Brad Dimock will be on display.
