Writer-director Paul Mazursky’s critically acclaimed dramatic comedies dealt with contemporary social issues and here led TV icon Art Carney to a Best Actor Oscar as a retired lifelong New Yorker who goes on a cross country odyssey with his beloved cat Tonto.

7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 21 at Cline Library Assembly Hall.

The College of Arts and Letters Film Series is free and open to the public.

Community members can print a complimentary parking pass for each film at NAU Parking Services.

The 2017 Fall College of Arts and Letters Film Series is seeing stars:The series’ theme —20th Century Fox: The Stars—includes 15 movies featuring some of the most dazzling movie stars from 20th Century Fox films productions as far back as 1935 and as recent as 2016. Commanding the screen are famous actors such as Bette Davis, Vincent Price, Marilyn Monroe, Jackie Gleason, Alan Rickman, Dolly Parton and Lily Tomlin.

Get to know about the movies and their famous actors at 7 p.m. Tuesday evenings in the Cline Library Assembly Hall. Win prizes as film experts share little-known tidbits about the films, actors and the social issues that impacted the stories and their telling.
