Check out the Creative Elements Art Exhibit at High County Coference Center open from May 2 - July 31 Monday to Friday. 

This exhibit will feature two artists, Jocelyne Therese Champagne Shiner and Anita Caro. 

The Community Art Gallery accommodates both two-dimensional framed pieces and three-dimensional pieces in a dynamic setting against a view of the San Francisco Peaks through 32 foot windows lining the gallery area. The gallery program, a collaboration between Northern Arizona University and the High Country Conference Center, developed from NAU’s vision to showcase Northern Arizona’s vibrant artistic community at the conference center. The gallery is free and open to the public during business hours 9:00am to 5:00pm.

Jocelyne Thérése Champagne Shiner: Jocelyne began her professional artistic career in the mid-1980’s as a self-taught commissioned watercolorist. During this time she also had ownership in a local art gallery. After years of watercolor painting and raising toddlers Jocelyne returned to school and completed her B.F.A. from the University of Tennessee. In the fall of 2013, Jocelyne secured a local studio, “Studio Jocelyne.” Jocelyne continues to explore mediums, subjects and styles.

Anita Caro: Anita began working with glass after a 20 year career in banking. Her right brain was telling her to learn something new and a Glass Fusing class ensued. She quickly realized she had found her passion. The way light dances over, around and through it. The colors are vivid, sharp and true. This medium was different from anything she had ever done before, an exciting new adventure. She was captivated with the endless possibilities of what can be done with glass: functional, decorative, traditional, abstract, and whimsical.
