Greetings,

I am Victoria Tomas, a teacher at Puente de Hozhó. I am reaching out to a representative of WIHCC to present at our second Naadąąʼ es Identidad (Corn is our Identity) on October 26, 2023. We invite your organization to possibly present healthy habits or other cultural information on the nutrition of corn, other heritage foods, etc.

Our focus is on sharing the significance of corn and the connection to self-identity of the Navajo Culture & other indigenous tribes throughout the Americas.

Corn represents all living things, and the beautiful way of life for many Native American tribes, through this opportunity, your organization may provide outreach to our community members.

If you would like to attend and think that your organization can visit our school, please let us know. Additionally, if you have any further ideas or suggestions for other community outreach programs, that would be greatly appreciated.

The Naadąąʼ es Identidad (Corn is our Identity) is on October 26, 2023. The event begins at 5:30-7:00 p.m. There will be a community gathering at Puente de Hohzo gym. Families of the PdH community will be providing a variety of corn dishes to share. Additionally, we will have other presenters and or organizations, and family members sharing the stories of corn and how it relates to self-identity.
Your organization will be supplied with a table to set up your panel display and or space for your needs.
