Making artworks that only reveal their truest meaning when you look closely in the right light seems appropriate for telling women’s stories, explains Falk, since women’s concerns haven’t always been seen, heard, or taken seriously.

Darcy Falk has been creating artwork from textiles since the mid-1980s. She is also a writer, the creator of the Kevlar Kimono, and a resident of Flagstaff since 1986.
